In Guangzhou a city in china, there you would be amazed, at the number of Nigerian immigrants there, I mean able body young men wasting away, running from the immigration and police officers, doing all sorts of bad and illegal business. A lot of them are regretting that they ever came, but can’t go back because of the fines involved, trust the Chinese, very strict and orderly people, you must pay or go to jail until u pay the fines for overstaying in their country.
So also I read on the internet news website sometimes ago, how the government of Vietnam warned Nigerians to stop coming to commit crime in Vietnam, I still wonder if it is a government problem or if it’s an individual problem? In Ghana, the Ghanaians will tell you there were no robbery problem until Nigerians start flooding their country, the same thing in south Africa, in the UK, majority of Nigerians who people think are living abroad are actually in jail in the UK, Call the “HOME OFFICE” and they will happily tell you the figures and stories, so the question goes thus is this a government problem or the individual Nigerian problem?
Lest I forget, it is now a common thing to identify Nigeria with fraud, robbery, immigration crime, looting and credit card fraud worldwide, is this really a government problem or right in the individual who commit these crimes? Is it justifiable to say, because the nation and the leadership is not up to task, so, Nigerians should be excused to go to other people's country and spoil the system hence making fools of themselves? Is this justifiable?
Or the government lacking proper planning strategies for the people as resulted in them becoming a nuisance all over the world let save the questions and get answers.
As we all know; currently people are trooping back to Nigeria because of the economic recession in the U.S and U.K. On the other hand the standard of living seems to be getting worse for everyone! Life is unbearable, Nepa is hopeless, and streets are filthy. Twenty generators in a neighbourhood are on at the same time, driving you insane. Don’t get me wrong Nigerians are unique people and kind hearted but they have no choice than to exploit a greener pasture because only a fool will continue to risk their lives to armed robbers, constant power failure and the horrible road conditions when you have an alternative. Insensitive politicians are only concerned with looting and looting. Personally I know one or two people who have relocated permanently to the United Kingdom. They have invested there and do not have plans of coming back to Nigeria.
I read an article about the good old days of Nigeria, when Ghanaians rushed to Nigeria when their economy took a bad hit from the same plague happening in Nigeria now. Massive monumental maladministration, corruption stuck them, when the Nigerian government got tired of being hosts to millions of illegal aliens we asked them to leave with the popular slogan “Ghana Must GO”. How come we are now the one running to them, seriously we can't compare the infrastructure and rule of law in Ghana to Nigeria. I will keep saying this, Nigerians will continue to run to other countries, until we start to believe that we are capable of starting a movement that will throw up the right leaders we need,
I still imagine an able bodied young man with money to invest looking around him to find where to expend his resources. If his better option is abroad then he'll go and seek employment abroad and invest abroad.
In conclusion, I would say this, when I hear news of Nigerians running to countries like Ghana, Kenya, Vietnam, and other countries that are not even stable economically. I feel like breaking down in tears. Nigeria should naturally be better than the countries mentioned. The problem with Nigeria is really that of a bad and visionless leadership. Can you imagine a South Africa without Nelson Mandela or India without Mohandas Ghandi or The World without Jesus? I believe that, God will send us, a Moses that will lead us to the Promise Land. I believe In Change.

“Corruption, the greatest single bane of our society today
Corruption can simply be defined as an immoral and dishonest exploitation of power for personal gain and it can also be defined as a total betrayal of Public Trusts. “In Igbo tradition, a betrayal of public trust is likened to treason, and so such a man or woman does not deserve life.” These days you can hardly mention a leader in Nigeria, without a criminal record past or present, so if I may ask, what will be the moral justification of a leader who came into power through fraudulent means to preach against corruption?
Corruption is also the bane of development in Nigeria, and until we apply lethal treatment to it, we can not move any further than we are today, with all the petroleum dollars, the Ordinary Nigerian Citizen still suffers in abject poverty, not because we are lazy but because of the greed, of some of our leaders. But I believe the judgement day for corrupt leaders from 1960 till date is coming very soon, and there is no hiding place for the living and the dead. However, it should be noted that most of this corrupt leaders flourish when the country they govern cannot raise good and honest candidates to challenge them during elections. That’s why Gen. Sanni Abacha knew he was not a favourite of the people yet he wanted to be a life president.
After all my research I came to a conclusion that it’s not only the leaders that are involve in corruption, the citizen are also involved in it, knowingly or unknowingly. I may not fault them because once a leader is corrupt so will the downstream be. In my research, I also found out that corruption is beyond looting public treasury, seriously its beyond that, even when you drive through one way you are corrupt and you are one of Nigeria's problems. When you litter the street with pure water sachets, urinate anywhere, you are corrupt! When you disobey the traffic light because there is no police man around, you are corrupt! When you are unruly and you are fond of disrupting orderliness in the society you are corrupt! And even patronizing fake Products and Musical CD, s is corruption. For God sake lets do things right in this nation, we don’t have to be told. We all know what’s wrong and what’s not.
Finally to end this topic, I would say this, Corruption and mismanagement can occur anywhere in the world, but what is important is not the corruption but how the people and government react to it, so I believe things can only change if we take that initiative to make a change. As far as am concerned, there is no Yoruba problem. There is no Igbo problem. There is no Hausa/ Fulani problem. There is only a Nigerian problem. We solve the problem not as an Action Congress Patriot or ANPP Patriot or PDP Patriot or any party supporter but as Nigerian Patriot. We should come as one Nigeria to solve that problem. “God Bless Nigeria”
These is a simple chain of what is going on in Nigeria Presently : “From amongst the people come corrupt leaders- corrupt leaders practice corruption- corruption brings about poverty- poverty enslaves the people- the poor people are forced to substitute their values for bread and keep silent in the face of brazen corruption and abuse of office- soon the values are forgotten, the people now worship naira and all those who have it not minding the source- the people due to poverty keep bad leaders in office- more corruption leads to abject poverty, lack of education, lack of good roads, crime etc- the bad leaders cant stand decay in society and move their families abroad “
So, the problem is not only the leaders, but we ALL are to be blamed for Nigeria’s problems. And so also we the citizen are to be blamed for keeping silent, while our nation is plundered.
